Hello welcome to my blog! My name is Michele Ann and I live in Saitama, Japan. I currently work for a small English school in Ikebukuro / Kawagoe. I used to work for the JET Program as an ALT (assistant language teacher of English). It’s my fifth year of teaching and living in Japan. One thing is for certain, I love Japan and I don’t think I’ll be coming back to America anytime soon.
I created this blog to document my life in Japan. You’ll see a lot of different content here. From regular life in Japan, working in Japan, shopping hauls and shopping fasts, to curating a conscious closet and ethically shopping! I like the keep things real so I’ll be very open with the bad and good aspects of my experience in Japan. Life goes up and down, and all of us experience it differently, especially when in another county. There’s a lot going on in my head and most of the time I can’t decide what project or endeavor I want to dive into so I’ve ended up doing them all at once, here on this blog.
I have far too many hobbies but the most important ones have found their way to this blog so don’t hesitate to take a look around. I’m working my best on mastering Japanese while traveling as much my wallet can permit. I’m a firm believer in all-natural / ethical brands and products but as I am a struggling shopaholic, the fight between conscious consumerism and getting something fast is something I’m continuously working on. I love fashion but I wouldn’t say I’m the best at it nor would I define myself as a “fahsion blogger”. I like to wear simple comfortable things, with a bit of a kawaii flair.
I’ve come to realize that although most of our younger generation are dreamers, I find it hard to latch on to a specific dream in terms of career or where I want to be in life. I honesty find it extremely stressful to hold myself to society’s demands. I’m just doing the best I can, and that’s pretty much all I can do at this point. Day by day, week by week, life will take me on a path it knows best for me.
*Currently pondering on what to do with my life and career (11/23/2018)
Thank you for stopping by.
